Spot Media - spotmedia.online, announces the launch of Delta by Design: From Oil to Ideas — a bold virtual event and hackathon happening on June 5, 2025 (World Environment Day), aimed at using design thinking and creative innovation to tackle civic and environmental challenges in the Niger Delta.
Hosted in partnership with Niger Delta Herald, this event invites creatives, designers, technologists, community organisers, and development partners to explore how design can address longstanding issues in oil-rich but underdeveloped regions.

The launch of a 72-hour hackathon for young innovators across Nigeria

Delta-by-Design Hackathon 1.0 2025
This year’s theme, From Oil to Ideas, symbolises the shift from extractive thinking to generative action. Street Pali — a newly launched civic radio drama — will also be spotlighted as part of the event’s cultural storytelling track.
